Key Responsibilities:

• Draper Blooms Tea Garden: Prepare a variety of scones and mini teatime desserts that will delight our guests.
• Merc Cafe: Bake whole cakes, cookies, and brownies. Handle special orders such as chocolate-covered strawberries and creme brulee, adding a touch of elegance to our offerings.

Summary

We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Draper Mercantile. In this role, you will assist in the management of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation while contributing to an inspiring dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing events, kitchen operations, and staff.
• Ensure food quality and presentation meet the standards of Draper Mercantile.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Manage inventory control and assist with ordering supplies.
• Create new menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef based on seasonal produce.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment adhering to health regulations.
• Oversee banquet preparations and catering events as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a casual fine dining environment.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen management practices.
• Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.

• Familiarity with inventory management processes is preferred.
